SNC-1 laboratory apparatus

SNC-1 series laboratory apparatus are suitable for surface nanocrystallization treatment of metallic materials and can be used to prepare nanocrystalline structure in the surface layer.

A plenty of materials can be treated to achieve surface nanocrystallization by using this machine, such as copper, low carbon steel and stainless steel etc. The coarse grains of the surface are refined gradually to nano-scale under the severe plastic deformation. Subsequently, a surface nanocrystalline layer with gradient microstructure of increasing grain size along the depth is formed (Fig.2).

The SNC-1 Surface Nanocrystallization laboratory apparatus comprises of three units:

Main Unit: Twin working containers, vibrator, seal box etc.

Control Unit: Control and display parts of temperature, time and vibration frequency etc.

Assistant Unit: Cooling system, vacuum system and air flow system.

Basic Concept and preparation methods of SNC

The surface of materials is subjected to multi-directional external load repeatedly (Fig.1), and the coarse grains in the top surface layer are refined gradually to nano-scale under the severe plastic deformation. Subsequently, a surface nanocrystalline layer with gradient microstructure of increasing grain size along the depth is formed(Fig.2).
