A New approach: Surface mechanical grinding treatment (SMGT)

Purposes and features

To achieve surface nacrystalline layer and gradient grain-refined layer;
Operation simple, suitable for rotational specimen;
To promote wear resistance, fatigue resistance, stiffness and strength of bulk material, and to decrease the temperature and duration of surface thermo-chemical treatment, by enhancing surface strength, reducing surface roughness and pre-producing surface compressive stress;
To upgrade materials with lower standard and type, by replacing conventional surface processing such as precision grinding and surface queching.
